Genesseo Art Festival

On saturday mom and I went to the art festival. my blue scarf was commented on numerous times. That was cool. I also bought three new T shirts, so new creations are coming soon. well, two of the three. one I'm using to replace the grey one with pockets. yeah, I accidentally destroyed that one -.- ... Also I made a bag and a laptop case. Pictures will be uploaded ASAP. oh! and a new magazine called better holes and garbage is going to run an article on me. Here's their website. More Projects

I made three new shirts in the same night. All of the designs are from the website www.cutoutandkeep.net . It's a great site with tons of ideas and people creating and sharing new ones every day. The grey shirt has pockets, which is exciting because I'm not very good at sewing, but they're kind of useless so I am working out how to change them so they will be functional.

Maybe I Should Explain...

I went to my friend, Maddi's, house a few weeks ago and there was a pile of T shirts on her couch. There were also two thick books filled with things that you can make out of T shirts. I was interested then, but didn't think I'd ever make these things myself because I'm not in any way a crafty person. Well, the other day I wanted to wear a dress, but the only ones I have are too fancy for everyday wear. But I remembered Maddi and her T shirts so, like any other teenager would do, I went on Google. I found a website called 'hide your arms.com' and I made my first dress from an old over-sized T shirt. I got a little excited... I went back online and found various other recipes for new clothes from old T shirts. I got really excited... I'm not usually someone who obsesses over things, but I became a little obsessed. I became very obsessed. So now I will not buy clothes except T shirts and jeans (turns out just about the only thing you can't make out of  T shirts is denim...). Join me, if you like. I'm not an exceptionally crafty person, I'm just bored, I suppose. And the things that I make are totally simple and anyone could make them. This isn't my idea, there are tons of people making new of old, I just take it more seriously. So I made the dress, then the next day I made the blue scarf and I was totally hooked.
